Install Office 365 on a Windows or Mac Computer

All W&J Students are assigned an Office 365 license that entitles them to install the Microsoft Office Software Suite on up to 5 personal devices. Please follow the corresponding instructions to utilize the Microsoft Office applications on your device.


Install On A Windows PC:
1. Go to www.office.com and click Sign In
2. Sign in with your full W&J Email Address and Password.
3. After signing in, Click Install Office apps button in the top right of the 365 home page.

4. Select Office 365 apps to begin the installation, or click Other install options for expert installation options.
5. Depending on your browser, select Run (in Edge or Internet Explorer), Setup (in Chrome), or Save File (in Firefox) to launch the file and install the Office 365 Software Suite. If you get any prompts asking Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device, Click Yes.
6. A window should appear and start the installation. Your install is finished when you see the phrase You're all set! Office is installed now. You may be asked to restart your device after the install is complete


Install on an Apple Computer:
1. Go to www.office.com and click Sign In
2. Sign in with your full W&J Email Address and Password.
3. After signing in, Click Install Office apps button in the top right of the 365 home page.
4. Select Office 365 apps to begin the installation, or click Other install options for expert installation options.


5. Once the download has completed, open Finder, go to Downloads, and double-click to launch the Microsoft Office installer.pkg  (the name might vary slightly). If you see an error that says the Microsoft Office installer.pkg can't be opened because it is from an unidentified developer, wait 10 seconds and move the downloaded file to your desktop. Hold Control + click the file to launch the installer.
6. In the window that appears, select Continue to begin the installation process.
7. Review the software license agreement, and then click Continue. Click Agree to agree to the terms of the software license agreement. Choose how you want to install Office and click Continue.
8. Review the disk space requirements or change your install location, and then click Install.
9. Enter your Mac login password, if prompted, and then click Install Software. (This is the password that you use to log in to your Mac.) You will see The Installation was successful when the install Is complete.

 

Additional Information

Please note that ITS does not support personally owned computers, and cannot guarantee that Office 365 will run without conflict or issue on any personally owned system. Before you begin the process to install this or any other software, we highly recommend you do the following:

-Install the latest operating system updates to your computer

-Verify that all other software on your computer is updated

-Verify that your computer has ample resources based on the requirements of the software

-Backup your data in case of any errors or faults.
