Starting on April 14th, 2020, you'll be able to receive, listen and delete all of the new and saved voicemails from your campus phone within Outlook. While most devices allow you to listen to your voicemail on-demand, Outlook for Windows requires you to download the voicemail to your hard drive to listen to it. You can change this by installing the Cisco ViewMail add-on, which allows you to play messages without downloading them.
- Make sure your computer is connected to a campus wired network connection, or connected to the W&JSecure wireless network.
- Ensure that Microsoft Outlook is not open or currently running.
- Open File Explorer and enter this address into the address bar: \\washjeff.edu\shares\software\ViewMail
- Select the folder that matches your version of Outlook. If you’re unsure what version you’re using, open the start menu and locate the Outlook shortcut. If the year is not listed in the start menu, you’re using Outlook 2019/365.
- Double click on setup to launch the installer
- You’ll first see a popup about components that must be installed before you can install ViewMail. Check all the available boxes and click Install.
- Advance through the installer by clicking Next. When prompted, accept the ViewMail terms and conditions.
- When the install is finished, you’ll see the message Completed the Cisco ViewMail for Outlook Setup Wizard.
- Click Finish to close the setup wizard.
- Open Outlook. You should be greeted by the Cisco ViewMail for Outlook Initialization Wizard.
- Click Next to advance through the setup. Verify that your email address and campus phone extension are listed correctly in the appropriate fields.
- Click Finish.
