Transferring a call

Use this feature to transfer an on/off campus party to another on/off campus party.

 

  • Blind transfer: Immediately redirects the call without a conversation with the transfer recipient
  • Consult transfer: Redirects the call after a conversation with the transfer recipient

 

Cisco IP 79XX series

  1. Press the Transfer soft key.  The call is placed on hold.
  2. Dial the number to which you want to transfer the call.
  3. To make a blind transfer:  Press the Transfer soft key again to complete the transfer.

OR

  1. Press the Transfer soft key.  The call is placed on hold.
  2. Dial the number to which you want to transfer the call.
  3. To make a consult transfer:  Wait for the call to be answered.  Speak to the transfer recipient.  Press the Transfer button a second time.

 
Canceling your consult call-transfer attempt (in the event of a consult rejection):

  • Press the EndCall soft key.

Reconnecting with the original caller

  • Press the Resume soft key.

 

Cisco IP 69XX and 78XX series

  1. Press the Transfer button. The call is placed on hold.

  1. Dial the number to which you want to transfer the call.
  2. To make a blind transfer:  Press the Transfer  again to complete the transfer.

OR

  1. Press the Transfer button. The call is placed on hold.

  1. Dial the number to which you want to transfer the call.
  2. To make a consult transfer:  Wait for the call to be answered.  Speak to the transfer recipient.  Press the Transfer button a second time.

Information

To transfer a call off campus, you must dial 9 first.

You cannot use transfer to redirect a call on hold.  Press Resume to remove the call from hold before transferring a call.
